Transcarpathian border guards found contraband cigarettes in a car and in a train

Last weekend, border guards of the Chop detachment together with customs officers prevented two attempts of illegal transportation of contraband cigarettes across the border.

Thus, on November 26, our compatriot was heading from Ukraine to Slovakia through the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" in a minibus "Mercedes". However, after joint in-depth inspection of the vehicle, border guards found 242 packs of cigarettes of various brands with Ukrainian excise stamps. The Ukrainian hid the contraband cigarettes under a decorative plating of the cargo compartment and under the cabin ceiling covering of his van.

In the second case, on November 27, border guards of the department "Chop", during the inspection, found hidden tobacco products in a passenger train. The cigarettes "LIFA" made in Ukraie in the amount of 150 packs were found under the seat of the transfer car.

All the found cigarettes were seized according to the established procedure and estimated at over 6,000 UAH. The minibus "Mercedes" worth more than 140,000 was also seized.
