Transcarpathian art “settled” in Bratislava

The exhibition of paintings by famous Ukrainian artists from Transcarpathia "Ukraine through the eyes of Europe" in the "Aircraft" gallery in Slovak capital Bratislava was made possible by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovakia Oleg Havashi and the rector of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture Andriy Chebykin.  The exhibition features the works of 10 artists: people – Andriy Chebykin, Vasyl Skakandiy, Zoltan Michka, honored – Boris Kuzma, Vasyl Betsa, Nataliya Sima-Pavlyshyn, Vasyl Svalyavchyk, Taras Danylych, Petro Feldeshi and Andriy Ivancho. According to the Head of the Transcarpathian National Union of Artists of Ukraine Boris Kuzma, since they planned a thematic exhibition, they focused on traditional and contemporary art. By the way, the event was attended by several Transcarpathian artists whose works are presented in the gallery. The exhibition aroused considerable interest and will run until October 5. In Bratislava they have even issued the original catalog of the works by Transcarpathian artists. Soloists of the Regional Philarmonics added Transcarpathian flavor to this cultural event.

Interestingly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara attended the exhibition during his official visit to the Slovak Republic together with his Slovak counterpart, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajcak. Overall, the event was attended by over 300 representatives of government and political circles of Slovakia, members of the accredited diplomatic corps, businessmen, scientists and artists, Ukrainian minority of the neighboring country.
