Transcarpathia is ready to hold early presidential election – the RSA

On Monday, May 19, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Valeriy Lunchenko took part in the nationwide conference call on ensuring fulfillment of tasks on preparation and holding of the early presidential election in Ukraine, which was chaired by the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. Members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, heads of regional state administrations, representatives of the CEC, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine and local police units took part in the conference call.

– The election in Ukraine must be fair, transparent and democratic – Yatsenyuk began the conference. – We must provide equal access to voting process for all citizens.
The Prime Minister said that the Parliament had adopted all necessary laws, the election had been financed in full. It was also emphasized that all regions of Ukraine must take part in the early election.

 – We understand that in some settlements there may be problems with the campaign and election process. Overall, however, this will not affect substantially the results of the voting – Yatsenyuk said.

During the election, over two thousand international observers will be working in Ukraine, who will be monitoring the election throughout the country.

Regarding the Transcarpathian region, Valeriy Lunchenko reported that as of now, there are no problems with the preparations for the election in the region, maximum access to the voting would be ensured, there are no serious violations that could disrupt the electoral process.

Following the conference call, they identified key objectives, including: equal access to the voting for all Ukrainians, minimizing the risk of voting disruption at polling stations, ensuring a democratic election and transparent vote counting.
