Transcarpathia is in the top ten regions in terms of foreign trade turnover

More than six hundred enterprises with foreign investments are operating in Transcarpathia. They operate mostly in the industrial sector. Over the past year, more than $ 20 million in foreign direct investment has been invested in the region’s economy. This is one and a half times more than that in 2015. This was announced during a briefing by the Head of the Department for Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Cross-Border Cooperation of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Renata Moish-Shiman. "The increase in the total amount of foreign capital in 2016 in the region amounted to about $ 6 million, which is almost 2 percent more than the amount of the investment before the beginning year, – the head of the department said. – This indicator is the 6th among the regions of Ukraine."

Currently, in the region, there are investors from 47 countries of the world. The largest volumes of foreign direct investment, mostly in the region’s industry, have come from the Netherlands, Germany and Poland. In terms of districts and cities of the region, the funds were invested in enterprises of the cities of Uzhgorod and Mukachevo, as well as Uzhgorod, Vynogradiv and Velyky Berezny districts.

The analysis of foreign trade in goods over the past year indicates an increase in foreign trade turnover compared with that of 2015 by more than 11 percent. Exports increased by almost 11 percent, imports – by 12 percent. With these indicators, Transcarpathia is in the top ten leaders among the regions of Ukraine. The main partner countries of Transcarpathian region in the field of foreign trade are Hungary, Germany, China, Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, Slovakia and Austria.
