Transcarpathia has made on tourism 35% more than last year

The revenues from tourism tax to local budgets of Transcarpathian region have increased by 35% compared to the same period last year.

This is reported on the website of the Main Office of the State Fiscal Service in Transcarpathian region.

"The local budgets of Transcarpathia have received almost UAH 1 million 448 thousand of tourism tax. These funds were paid during the seven months of 2017 by Ukrainian citizens, foreigners, as well as stateless persons, who visited the Transcarpathian region and received services of temporary accommodation. Compared to the same period last year, the proceeds from this tax have increased by 372,000 UAH", – the report said.

As the head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Lyubov Kohuch commented to the Zruchno.Travel, the increase in budget revenues from tourism tax indicates an increase in the tourist flow. This is due to the development of various tourist destinations and event tourism.

"Every week we have several festivals – their number is increasing year by year. In addition, there are new attractions for different types of recreation", – Kohuch said.

According to the department, most tourists come to Transcarpathia from neighboring regions – Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Rivne. In addition, there are many guests from big cities – Odesa, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Dnipro, which have direct train services to Transcarpathia. And among foreigners, most tourists are from Hungary, who are primarily interested in historical tourism.
