Towards the holidays: the “Hungarian Melodies” will be performed in the Philharmonic (Announcement)

Christmas and New Year’s holidays are coming. Saint Nicholas – the patron of the poor, the disadvantaged, the unjustly offended, and also a great assistant in education, art and science – has already visited our homes. Meanwhile the world is preparing to welcome Christmas according to the Western tradition.

On December 25, one of the major Christian holidays is celebrated by Roman Catholics, Protestants and most Lutherans and some Orthodox. Needless to say, Catholic Christmas in Transcarpathia is traditionally revered by representatives of all faiths.

And on this day, December 21, the chamber and instrumental ensemble "Hungarian melodies" of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic Society invites everyone to the concert "BOLDOGKARÁCSONYT".

The program consists of traditional Christmas carols, folk songs, scenes from operettas, instrumental pieces and inflammatory Hungarian dances. The artistic director of the ensemble is Anton Shtepko. Soloists: Onika Nagy (soprano), Angelica Gerber (authentic singing, zither), Andriy Svyd (tenor), Diana Havata (cello), Olesya Haiduk (organ).

Spouses Andrea and Istvan Balints will present dance performances. The host is Gabriela Kish.  The concert starts at 17.00.
