On December 24, at 17.30, in the Christmas town near the Linguistic Gymnasium, there will be a solemn transfer of the Bethlehem Peace Fire to the community of Uzhgorod.
At 10.00, scouts will give the Bethlehem Peace Fire to the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal and on Sunday, December 27, at 9.00 – to parishioners of the Greek Catholic Cathedral in Uzhgorod.
The campaign Bethlehem Peace Fire will be held on the initiative of scouts every year in December and January. Recall that the main objective of the event is the spread of the fire lit in Bethlehem across Ukraine – to each community, each home or institution. From hand to hand, from one scout cell to another, Bethlehem Fire crosses many border and goes to all those waiting for the light of warmth, peace and faith.
Scouts have been supporting the ceremony of transfer of this symbolic Fire for over 20 years. This year, Uzhgorod scouts will pass the fire to townspeople at the grand opening of the Christmas town, which is located on Nezalezhnist embankment near the Linguistic Gymnasium. Anyone will be able to take the fire until Orthodox Christmas, as the lamp with the fire wiill be kept in the Christmas town.
