Transcarpathians celebrated the 61st anniversary of the 1956 revolution

The Minister of Justice of Hungary László Tročany was celebrating together with Transcarpathians, the prozak.info reported.

The meeting of the Minister with the leadership of Transcarpathian region took place in a friendly atmosphere. The Minister thanked the regional authorities for supporting the Hungarian minority. Of course, they discussed the controversial education law.

Despite the bad weather, representatives of the Transcarpathian authorities, Uzhgorod municipality, representatives of the Hungarian minority, Hungarian diplomats and ordinary Uzhgorod residents laid flowers to the 1956 revolution stele near the Owl’s Nest and to the memorial plaque on Dovzhenko Street.

There were no provocations.

Everyone understands that the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 was a revolution against totalitarianism and for the democratic future of the country. The revolution was drowned in blood. The Stalinists shot thousands of revolutionaries, and tens of thousands of people were put in prisons in Siberia.
