Today, February 4, in Uzhgorod, in Transcarpathian Regional Court of Appeal, the court in an open trial considered the appeal of a soldier, a hero of the ATO twice wounded in the conflict zone – Denis Voloshin.
Recall that on November 18, 2014, Uzhgorod City and District Court convicted Denis Voloshin of an offense under Part.425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: for professional negligence. Transcarpathian activists stressed that the Ministry of Defense instead of recognizing their own guilt in the case, decided to blame it on Denis Voloshin.
As a result, the panel of judges decided to deny the appeal of Denis Voloshin, and to leave the judgment of the trial court unchanged. The ruling entered into force upon its announcement. The verdict can be appealed in cassation procedure.
At today’s meeting, a lot of colleagues, journalists, activists and concerned Uzhgorod residents came to support Denis Voloshin – the court room was full of people.
After the presiding judge read out the ruling, everyone in the audience began chanting "Shame" and calling to send judges with the military prosecutor to the war zone.
