The police opened a criminal investigation into a road accident near the village of Dubrivka in Uzhgorod. As a result of the collision between a Mercedes-Benz Vito, a Mercedes-Benz and an Opel Zafira, two people were injured and hospitalized.
The police was reported about the accident yesterday, May 24, at 7 o’clock in the morning.
The investigation team found out that the driver of the Opel Zafira, a 31-year-old resident of the village of Maly Rakovets in Irshava district, was moving towards Uzhgorod and failed to make way to the Mercedes-Benz Vito driven by a 43-year-old resident of Mukachevo.
As a result of the frontal collision, the car Mercedes-Benz Vito drove into the ditch. The car Opel Zafira ran into another car – Mercedes-Benz, which was moving towards Uzhgorod. This car was driven by a 58-year-old resident of Svalyava district.
As a result of an accident, the driver of the Opel Zafira, as well as his passenger, a 54-year-old resident of the village of Dubrivka, suffered polytrauma and were hospitalized.
A criminal proceeding was initiated under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of the rules of road safety). The drivers’ blood samples were taken for medical examination for the state of alcohol intoxication. The cars were taken to the impound lot of the Uzhgorod district police department.
