Since the beginning of 2014, officers of the Main Office of the Ministry of Income in Transcarpathian region have seized 3656 liters of alcohol, 1453 bottles of alcoholic beverages, 14,000 packs of tobacco products.
According to the Acting Deputy Chief – the Chief of Financial Investigation Department of the Main Office of the Ministry of Income in Transcarpathian region Mykhailo Shukost, within four months of 2014, operational staff of the Main Office of the Ministry of Income in Transcarpathian region have revealed 24 criminal offenses, including 16 cases of tax evasion.
During the said period, the Financial Investigation Department of the Main Office of the Ministry of Income in Transcarpathian region, have completed pre-trial investigations in 22 criminal proceedings.
According to the results of the preliminary investigation, 2,494,000 UAH of losses have been recovered to the state, and the property of suspected amounting to 646,000 UAH has been seized.
Of the completed criminal proceedings, 11 have been forwarded to the court with the indictment, 2 criminal proceedings have been forwarded to the court with the request to release a person from criminal liability due to voluntary payment of additionally accrued taxes under Part 4 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
– Currently, we are carrying out orders of the Government and conducting large-scale measures for unshadowing the market of excisable goods in Transcarpathian region, which allows to fill the shelves of outlets with legally produced alcohol and tobacco products, and promotes the flow of funds to the state budget from the payment of excise tax – Mykhailo Shukost said, summing up the work of investigative and operational department of the Main Office of the Ministry of Income in Transcarpathian region for the four months of 2014.
