This year’s Feketa half marathon was attended by twice more participants than that in the last year (PHOTOS)

This morning, at 10 am, runners of Perechyn Fedir Feketa half marathon started from Zhupanatska square in Uzhgorod, the Mukachevo.net informs.

This half marathon is held for the second time, this year twice more participants were registered for it.

The organizers say that they prepared a lot of interesting and new events in the program. Those are children races: in Perechyn, young children will run 618 m distance – the number of years since the foundation of Perechyn. Older children will run 1399 m – the year of the foundation of Perechyn. There will be special medals, awards, the participants’ names will be engraved on the plaque set in the F.Feketa park.

In Uzhgorod, children will run 1154 m – the number of years since the mention of Uzhgorod in the map of famous traveler Al Idrisi. Those will be representatives of children’s sports clubs: fencing, boxing, aikido, kickboxing, rugby, American football, basketball.

Also there will be a 2500 m race "Traminer-run" in honor of the famous wine variety Traminer.  The first 10 runners to finish will receive a bottle of "Traminer" wine.

Perechyn half marathon is held in honor of the legendary postman Fedir Fekete, who walked tens of kilometers every day from Uzhgorod to Perechyn and back. And also to promote physical education and healthy lifestyle.
