On Sunday, October 14, the celebrations on the occasion of the Day of the Defender of Ukraine will be held in the region. The events on the occasion of the state holiday in the regional center on Narodna Square will begin with the line-up of servicemen, law enforcement officers, border guards and rescuers.
The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal will make a speech, and the students of the Transcarpathian Regional Lyceum with enhanced military-physical training named after the Heroes of the Krasne Pole will make a solemn oath of allegiance to the Motherland. Military equipment and weapons will be also displayed there until 16:00.
Transcarpathia will join the national celebrations through online broadcasting of the events from Sofiyivska Square in Kyiv, in particular, the speech of the President of Ukraine.
Then, accompanied by an orchestra and flag-bearing group, the participant will march to the Hill of Glory. There, the participants of the event will lay flowers to the Eternal Fire and graves of the warriors, who died defending the sovereignty of Ukraine.
The events start at 9:00. Location: Narodna Square.
Attention, drivers!
Due to the march, vehicular traffic on Dovzhenko street, Zhupanatska Square, Sobranetska street (intersection with Tykha street), Tykha street will be temporarily restricted.
