Lviv welcomed 104 Transcarpathian border guards from the ATO area

Today, February 12, 104 border guards of the separate military commandant "Chop", who for more than six months were performing combat tasks in Donetsk region, arrived at the Lviv railway station by train from Berdyansk.

Most border guards are natives of Transcarpathian region; a few dozen students, Lviv residents and command of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Service came to congratulate the heroes on the return to peaceful land. 

The unit went to the "hot spot" of Ukraine during the first mobilization. After six months of service, not all of them have returned home, the battalion lost two soldiers, several were wounded. On the platform, they paid tribute to dead comrades with a minute of silence. The chief of State Border Service Western Regional Department Valeriy Hresko told about the exploits of the border guards.

"The separate military border guard commandant "Chop", during their stay in the ATO area, eliminated two reconnaissance and sabotage groups, detained several separatists, seized a lot of weapons and ammunition. They are true heroes, and many of them will receive state awards" – Hresko said.

The soldier with the callsign Owl said that most of all he was looking forward to meet with his grandson, who was born when he was fighting in the East.   

According to the press service of the Chop border guard detachment, the meeting with our "Green Berets" will be held at Chop train station on 13.02.2015 at 3:24 with the arrival of the train №601 "Lviv – Solotvyno." 100 soldiers of the separate military border guard commandant "Chop" are returning home.

 The rest of the personnel (about 50 soldiers) will come to Chop, tentatively, on 16.02.2015 with the convoy of military vehicles.

The celebrations to commemorate the soldiers of the separate military border guard commandant "Chop" with the participation of the management of the SBS Western Regional Department are scheduled for 17.02.2015 (Tuesday) in the Chop House of Culture. Details will be announced soon!
