The World Bank will give Ukraine 350 million for energy efficiency

The Ministry of Regional Development and the World Bank discussed the preparations to the project "Improving energy efficiency in the district heating sector of Ukraine."

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Regional Development, referring to the First Deputy Minister Hryhory Semchuk.

According to the press service, the funding of preparatory activities is carried out by the Grant of the Clean Technology Fund. The total cost of the future project will be about $ 350 million, and the term of its implementation will be 6 years. The start of the project is scheduled for the II half of 2014.

Representatives of the World Bank approved the work of the Ministry of Regional Development and consultants who implement the Grant of the Clean Technology Fund and the Central Management Group of the Project "Urban Infrastructure Development".

They also are satisfied with the cooperation with utilities – future project participants and noted that its preparation is carried out in accordance with the schedule agreed by the parties.

As reported, the Minister for Regional Development, Hennady Temnyk stated that the Ministry of Regional Development was working on the implementation of new investment projects in housing, including – "Urban Infrastructure Development – 2" and "Energy efficiency projects in the district heating sector of Ukraine."
