The Mayor was asked about the future of the burnt building of the "Ukraina" shopping centre and the Cyril and Methodius Square too. The correspondents of Uzhgorod.in also took an interest in the government’s future steps toward fire safety.
Since the great fire has lead to great troubles.
First of all, fire safety is not inspected properly in the city. Even if the required orders are present, they are not observed.
Furthermore, the fact that the firefighters could not connect to the fire hydrants during extinguishing the fire became shocking news. The fire hydrant opening were simply covered with asphalt.
Bohdan Andriyiv has assured us that they are going to check each and every fire hydrant in Uzhhorod.
In addition, responding to our question the Mayor said that he will initiate an independent inspection of the work of those responsible for fire safety in Uzhhorod.
