The “Stone of Love” established today in Uzhgorod was unveiled by newlyweds (PHOTOS)

Today, on the Day of the City, the monument was opened in the courtyard of the State Registrar’s Office on Nebesna Sotnya street.
The "Stone of Love" or "Wish Stone" was brought to the regional center of Transcarpathia from the city of Cana of Galilee (Israel), a holy place where Jesus Christ blessed the first couple for a happy marital life. Many people believe that if you pray and touch this stone, love will become even stronger.
Although the rain made some changes to the celebrations of the Day of Uzhgorod, but, according to popular beliefs, rain on wedding day is a good sign. For Mykhailo and Maryana, who got married today in Uzhgorod, this special day will also be remembered for the fact that they became the couple who unveiled the "Stone of Love" and were the first to make a wish. 

After the newlyweds, everyone, who was present at the ceremony, could touch the stone, make a wish and get a piece of the Holy Land.
