Residents of the region can rely on partial compensation of the expenses for energy efficiency.
On August 12, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution on the stimulation of population to energy efficiency by attracting grantees.
Under the resolution developed by the Ministry of Regional Development and State Energy Efficiency, the amount of compensation of loans taken by individuals for energy efficient equipment ("non-gas" boilers) and materials shall be increased from 20% / 30% / 40% to 70%.
The resolution also provides for the increase of limit amounts for compensation of loans taken for energy efficient equipment and materials from 5,000 / 10,000 UAH to 12,000 / 14,000 UAH.
Increasing the amount of compensation is intended to further intensify the process of thermomodernization in Ukraine, which requires more effective measures to ensure energy security
Today the maximum amount of compensation of loans is 5,000 UAH and 10,000 UAH, respectively. However, according to the authorized banks, the average amount of loans for purchase of "non-gas" boilers is 17,100 UAH. When the state compensates 70% of this sum, the amount of reimbursement will reach about 12,000 UAH. With an average amount of loans to purchase energy efficient equipment / materials being 19,600 UAH (according to authorized banks) and 70% of compensation, the amount of reimbursement reaches 14,000 UAH.
According to the estimates of the State Energy Efficiency and the Ministry of Social Policy forecasts on the number grantess (4.5 million people), the available volume of funding for the program of energy efficiency stimulation is sufficient to cover the additional financial burden arising as a result of additional support mechanisms for low-income sections of population.
