The Regional Coordinator for the Ombudsman has been appointed in Transcarpathia

Oleg Grigoriev has been appointed the Regional Coordinator of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Obmudsman in Transcarpathian region.

From now on, Transcarpathians, who want to address issues of violations of their rights, will not have to go to Kyiv or Lviv, where the closest office of the Obmudsman is situated. 

The network of regional coordinators for public relations is established due to the need to respond quickly to violations of human rights and to improve the implementation of human rights at the regional level, because often they are the only human rights defenders with the relevant mandate of the Ombudsman outside the capital, who can provide real help to people in regions in extreme situations.

The network of regional coordinators made up of local public defenders has been established by the Obmudsman with the support of donors and international organizations to ensure interaction between the Ombudsman, citizens and representatives of civil society at the regional level.  Regional coordinators for public relations carry out their activities under the Memorandum signed with the NGO "Association of Ukrainian monitors of human rights in law enforcement", which provides for the promotion of the network of regional coordinators of the Ombudsman with the assistance and support of UNDP in Ukraine and the International Fund "Renaissance".
