The prosecutor’s office sought in court the suspension of the decision of Uzhgorod City Council

and thus prevented illegal activities within protection zones in the territory of landscape architecture objects of Uzhgorod

 
 Transcarpathian District Administrative Court upheld the regional prosecutors’ motion to secure an administrative claim, by means of adoption of a decision to suspend the decision of Uzhgorod City Council number 1881 of November 9, 2015 "On approval of city planning documentation."

As informed by the head of the department of representation of the interests of citizens and the state in courts Alla Andreychyk, the court, taking into account the principled position of the prosecutors, by this decision prevented possible illigal activities within protection zones and in the territory of landscape architecture objects of the city until the adoption of legitimate and reasoned decision on the contested regulation.

This provisional measure is commensurate with the stated demands and circumstances of the case and will provide a real opportunity for the prosecution to ensure judicial protection of the constitutional rights and interests of local communities to safe and healthy environment, use of landscape facilities and participation in the discussion of rules and projects of beautification of the city of Uzhgorod.
