The program "Uzhgorod – a city accessible to all" for 2020-2024 was approved today at the session of the Uzhgorod City Council. Recall that yesterday the document was considered at the regular meeting of the executive committee.
The program was prepared by the Department of Labor and Social Welfare of the Uzhgorod City Council in association with the City Committee for ensuring accessibility to persons with disabilities and other less-mobile groups to social and engineering infrastructure facilities, the Department of Municipal Economy, the Department of City Planning and Architecture, the Department of State Architecture and Construction Control, public organizations of the city. A total of 5 million hryvnias is provided for its implementation in 2020-2024.
In order to implement the Program, it is planned to prepare a general report on the status of city infrastructure objects regarding unimpeded access for persons with disabilities and other less-mobile groups, to develop, make publicly available and constantly update the interactive map "Uzhgorod – a city accessible to all", to install in buildings, on sidewalks ramps, lowered curbs, visual and tactile markings and much more.
