The program of legal education for the population has been developed in Transcarpathia

The draft decision "On the program of legal education for the population of the region in 2015-2017" has been developed and submitted to deputies of the Regional Council.

The goal of the Program is to raise the general level of legal culture and to improve the system of legal education for the population, to provide the necessary legal knowledge to citizens, to form their respect for the law.

The main objectives of the Program include improvement of legal awareness of the population, especially among pupils and students, citizens living in rural areas, public servants, elected deputies of Ukraine, members of local councils, teachers of legal disciplines and journalists who cover legal themes; the creation of appropriate conditions for the acquisition of knowledge by citizens of their rights, freedoms and duties; widespread public awareness on legal policy and legislation; provision of free public access to sources of legal information; improvement of the system of legal education for the population, preservation and development of national traditions in this area.

Legal education shall be provided at all primary, secondary, vocational, higher education and postgraduate education institutions.

The primary legal education will be provided at pre-schools, where children will be given a basic knowledge of rules of conduct, have the skills of compliance with them formed, taught respect for parents, teachers, peers, the elderly and others.

Further legal education will be provided by general educational, vocational and higher education and postgraduate education institutions.
