The power of the native land (PHOTOS)

The delegation of the Association of regional communities of Ukraine is visiting Transcarpathia. Representatives of communities came to the Silver Land to meet on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the National Association of Communities.

Victor Tkachenko, the chairman of the National Association expressed respect for Transcarpathian hosts and handed the Transcarpathian Regional Council Chairman Volodymyr Chubirko a poetic text with greetings from representatives of different regions of Ukraine – to the Transcarpathians and Transcarpathia. At the beginning of the meeting at the Regional Council, they performed the anthem of the Transcarpathian community.

Volodymyr Chubirko, in turn, welcomed representatives of all communities of Ukraine in the westernmost region of the country. "The border of the European Union, of our neighbor, Slovakia is just three kilometers from here.Transcarpathia has taken the mission to show and tell, with your help, that we should be the gate of Ukraine to the European Union, to the European principles of life, European principles of relationships between people. This is perhaps the most important thing that we are doing", – the Chairman of the Regional Council said.

"The Regional Council has undertaken this difficult and important function. Kyiv, however, tries to restrain us somewhat, they say that international cooperation is not the region’s job. But Transcarpathians now have a unique opportunity. Including family ties with our neighbors, with Hungarians, Romanians, Slovaks, etc, and we are using it. And we want to help other regions to be closer to Europe! And we invite you to it!" – Volodymyr Chubirko said.  

Representatives of local communities will spend a few days in Transcarpathia, talking and getting to know the charms of our region, the press service of the Regional Council informed.
