The play area for cancer-sick children was arranged thanks to active Transcarpathians (PHOTOS)

This is a story of ordinary people doing an incredibly good work. Now, the children, who are being treated in the oncohematological department of the regional children’s hospital in Mukachevo, will have much more fun.

The arrangement of a play area for children with blood cancer was initiated by representatives of the public organization "Happy Children", who appealed to people with the request to help in this charitable cause. People transferred money to the official account of the organization. A total of 29,425 hryvnias was raised for the arrangement of the play area. 

For these money, they bought furniture, two large lamps providing high-quality lighting. They hanged curtains with funny giraffes. Now children have access to a large number of board games, books, puzzles, coloring books, albums, pencils, markers, paints, and much more that will brighten up their days in the hospital.

Such assistance to the department is very helpful, the Deputy Chief Physician and Chief Pediatrician of Transcarpathia Mykhailo Rad said.

The walls of the department in the palying area have come alive, because they are now painted. Funny giraffes, zebras, bears are now looking at children. There are many flowers. Svitlana Huley, the head of art projects, admits: "I liked the children’s reaction so much, that I decided to paint not only the play area, but the entire corridor.

The initiative does not end there. Volunteers will occasionally visit the hospital to play with children and add bright colors to their lives. "People are ready to come to Mukachevo from Uzhgorod to devote their time to these children. We are currently looking for such volunteers in Mukachevo, because in this case classes, workshops and games can be arranged more often. We are open to cooperation," Lyudmila Syuzeva, the co-founder of the NGO" Happy Children " explained.
