The petition for a moratorium on construction in the historic center has been registered in Uzhgorod

Its text is posted on the relevant site. The goal, the initiators say, is to stop the process of chaotic development:

"We demand:
to temporarily suspend issuance of permits for the execution of construction works regardless of ownership within the limits of the historical area and the development regulation zone of the first category in the city of Uzhgorod set by the scientific and project documentation "Historical and architectural master plan of the city of Uzhgorod, Transcarpathian region, identifying the boundaries of the monument and historical area protection zones" developed by the Historical Research Institute, until the registration of all newly discovered objects of cultural heritage in the city of Uzhgorod in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine in accordance with the List of Cultural Heritage Objects".
