The performance in honor of the famous Transcarpathian actor Oleksandr Mavrits will take place in the Drama Theater

On November 11, the leading actor of the Transcarpathian Academic Regional Ukrainian Musical and Drama Theater named after the Sherehiy brothers Oleksandr Mavrits will turn 55. On this occasion, on Sunday, November 12, at 6:00 pm, the theater will present the performance "Why do Willows Weep?", where he plays the role of the Father.

Oleksandr Mavrits was born in the village of Dovhe in Irshava district. He graduated from Uzhgorod School of Culture. At first, he worked at the puppet theater. For decades, he has been one of the most recognizable faces of the largest theater of the region. His roles are always memorable, he creates unique psychological portraits of the characters.

Among the recent works of Oleksandr Mavrits, there is the tragic role of migrant worker Gordubal in the drama "White Niger", the role of a maniac plumb in the comedy "Strangle Me In Your Embrace." The actor demonstrates his huge creative range – from comedy to tragedy. Oleksandr Mavrits is currently working on a production for the small stage, where he will play the complex role of a soldier coming back from the war.

The year 2017 was special for the Transcarpathian actor. The film "Red", where he played one of the main roles – the head of the Stalin concentration camp Abramov – was released. His debut in films turned out to be extremely successful.

Transcarpathian Music and Drama Theater is nominating Oleksandr Mavrits for the title of "Honored Artist of Ukraine".
