"Yesterday, the media spread the information about the detention of assistant to the people’s deputy I.Bedrynets while receiving a bribe from a private entrepreneur.
As I learned from the regional Internet publications, in return for this money, he promised to exert pressure on law-enforcers in a criminal proceeding unknown to me regarding embezzlement of funds by employees of a district state administration during the purchase of coal by sending deputy requests to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, the GPU and the Cabinet of Ministers on allegedly illegal actions of law-enforcers.
I.Bedrynets indeed was my assistant on a voluntary basis for a little more than a year, however, I officially declare that no inquiries or appeals on my behalf as a people’s deputy of Ukraine to any law enforcement agencies regarding the above criminal proceeding involving I. Bedrynets on the embezzlement of funds by employees of the DSA during the purchase of coal have been prepared, registered or sent by me or by my assistants."
