The number of job-seekers in Transcarpathia has decreased

Currently, in the region, there is a decrease in the imbalance between the demand for and offer of labor force. Today, on average in Transcarpathian region, there are three unemployed persons per vacancy, while last year the figure was 5; the number of vacancies is increasing, consequently the number of unemployed persons is decreasing, the director of the Transcarpathian Regional Employment Center Yuriy Fushchych reported. Over the past five months, more than 17 thousand Transcarpathians have taken advantage of the Employment Center services, almost 9 thousand of them have been employed. "During January-May, three thousand employers of the region opened 11 thousand vacancies. Compared to the corresponding period of the last year, the number of employers cooperating with the employment centers of the region increased by 10.5 percent, the number of registered vacancies has also increased", – Yu. Fushchych said. Vacancy filling is hampered by the fact that employers make high demands on the quality of vocational training, work experience and, at the same time, offer fairly low wages, even for highly skilled workers and specialists. Thus, the average wage for vacancies offered this year was 5702 hryvnias. In order to ensure adequate professional qualification of job-seekers, in the current year, with the assistance of the regional employment service, more than a thousand Transcarpathians have taken professional training – one in ten of the registered unemployed persons.
