The next “euro-gauge” route from Mukachevo will be to Slovakia

The train to Slovakia will also be running on the euro-gauge track, which leads to Mukachevo.

The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan published a post on Facebook about the start of the train test drive and added that the next destination after Budapest will be to Slovakia

Today, the first test run of the train Mukachevo-Budapest took place. We plan to launch a regular service in the near future. The feature is that this train runs on the euro-gauge track, and therefore passengers will not need to spend hours during the exchange of wheel pairs and wait in the queues at the border. The next destination is Slovakia, and also on the euro-gauge track. We agreed on it recently with the Slovak colleague. Thus, having a convenient communication with many Ukrainian cities and EU countries, Mukachevo has every opportunity to become a major railway hub. And not only for passenger tarnsportation, – Volodymyr Omelyan wrote.
