The Mayor of Uzhgorod forced his policemen to buy a uniform?

Employees of the municipal police department of the Uzhgorod City Council bought uniforms for their personal money.

This was reported to journalists by the Mayor of Uzhgorod Victor Pogorelov in response to the information request.

The uniform – trousers and white shirts with the inscription "Municipal Police" – was first seen on employees of the department during the plenary session of the Uzhgorod City Council on May 31. Then, "policemen" were standing at the door of the session hall, and physically stopping ordinary Uzhgorod residents and journalists who wanted to come in.

"The uniform for employees of municipal police and law enforcement department was purchased at their own expense", – the mayor of Uzhgorod said.

The salary of ordinary employees if the department, according to the City Council, is 1,147 UAH.
