The master class on Easter egg making made a lot of hype (PHOTOS)

In the Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library, there was a master class on Easter egg making. It was conducted by an art historian Roman Pylyp.

"It is not the first time I conduct such workshops. People of all ages are interested in it: young children, students, and even the older generation. But I would like to go to a higher level, to train Easter egg making masters.

Without them, such events will not be possible in the future, we need to develop.

I am focused on the traditional wax Easter egg. And I would like our region to become a leader in this area like Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk. There are a lot of festivals, Easter egg making masters there", – Roman Pylyp says.

As for Transcarpathian traditions, he added: "Different types of Easter eggs were widespread here: traditional Easter eggs, wax Lemko Easter eggs (made in the shape of a teardrop), Boyko Easter eggs (with characteristic large pattern), Hutsul Easter eggs (multicolor and rich with ornaments).

But nowadays young masters in Ukraine and Transcarpathia in particular use new techniques, sometimes very peculiar. For example, they carve Easter eggs (pierce it and it becomes delicate, like lace).  And there are other techniques too" – Roman Pylyp told Uzhgorod.in.
