The head of the Ecological Inspectorate Department was detained for soliciting money from entrepreneurs engaged in mining

As we reported, in Uzhgorod, the head of the department of ecological inspectorate of Transcarpathia was caught on a bribe.

In Transcarpathia, the Security Service od Ukraine caught the head of the State Ecological Control Division of the State Ecological Inspectorate on bribe-taking.Special service operatives found out that the official demanded money from entrepreneurs engaged in mining.If businessmen refused to pay bribe, the head of the department threatened them with imposing penalties and suspending the operations.

Law enforcement officers documented the fact that the official demanded 7 thousand hryvnia from an entrepreneur and detained him according to Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine in an Uzhgorod coffee house when he was receiving part of the illegal benefit.

Within the framework of the criminal proceeding initiated under part 3 of Art. 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of undue benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, urgent investigative and operative measures are being taken. The choice of pre-trial restraint is being decided.

The detention of the offender was carried out jointly with the territorial department of the State Bureau of Investigation in the city of Lviv under the procedural control of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region.
