The foreigner, who ran over a 15-year-old girl near Uzhgorod, was released under house arrest

The court of first instance imposed on the suspect a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention. But later, the man filed an appeal against this decision, which was considered today.

Thus, by the decision of the Court of Appeal, the pre-trial restraint was changed from custody to house arrest.

Later, the court explained that the suspect had an incurable illness.

– Additional documents were submitted, which prove that in 2015, the suspect was diagnosed with a certain disease, which we cannot disclose, and we also received documents from the detention facility that they were unable to provide him any medical care. The illness, I emphasize, is incurable and requires constant care," – Hanna Fazykosh, the chair of the Transcarpathian Court of Appeal, said.

Recall that the tragic accident happened on September 17 on the road Kyiv – Chop in the village of Nyzhnye Solotvyno. The driver fled from the accident scene.

Later, he and the passenger, who was in the car, were detained at the checkpoint "Tisa", when they were trying to escape abroad by another car.
