The first village workshop for the production of solar collectors will be opened in Chaslivtsi

In Uzhgorod Press Club, there was a meeting, the main theme of which was the opening of the first in Transcarpathia and in Ukraine village shop for the production of solar collectors that will be operating in Chaslivtsi.  The opening of this workshop is a joint project of the Association of economist students of Transcarpathia, Chaslivtsi village council and Kosice Agency for the Support of Regional Development (Slovakia).

Lesya Nosenko, the coordinator of the project "SUNRISE – Sustainable use of natural resources by small businesses" told more about the unusual initiative

"The purpose of the project is to encourage people, the general public, business to use alternative energy. Our project lasted three years and in December reached the final stage. During this time, we were conducting study tours, training, showing how Slovaks develop alternative energy. We prepared a test unit using which we will determine the feasibility of using solar collectors. On December 16 we will hold a seminar, which is already growing into a conference because of the great interest. At the event, Slovak colleagues will present their experience in this area. But the most important event is the opening of the workshop for the production of solar collectors in the village of Chaslivtsi. Before its launch, we reconstructed the club, bought the necessary equipment and conducted practical trainings on making of solar collectors. We invite participants to meet and try to make solar collectors themselves," – Lesy Nosenko said.

Yaroslav Patsarnyuk, energy auditor, helped to select the technology which would make it possible to produce solar collectors in rural areas. "This is not something new, but the dimensions of the collector and the materials it is to be made of should be carefully selected and optimize to get the highest quality at the lowest prices" – Yaroslav Patsarnyuk says.
