The first Olympic medal for Ukraine in Korea has the Transcarpathian “accent”

Ukraine has got the first medal at this year’s "white" Olympics in Korean Pyongchang, and it is golden!

On February 18, Ukrainian athlete Oleksandr Abramenko won the gold medal in freestyle.

In the super-finals of the ski acrobatics competition at the XXIII Olympics in Pyongchang (Republic of Korea), our athlete scored 128.51 points and became the winner.

This victory is directly related to Transcarpathia: our famous Olympic sportsman Enver Ablaev, who represented Transcarpathia at the Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Turin and Vancouver, is the head coach of the Ukrainian freestyle team. Congratulations to him, the new champion, the national team and Ukraine! Today our flag is raised, and the anthem is played at the main sporting competition of the planet! We wish Ukrainian athletes further victories!
