On October 25, in the Regional Art Museum, there will be the opening of the exhibition of the Transcarpathian art school co-founder, academician, People’s Artist of the USSR Yosyp Bokshay – in honor of the 125th anniversary of the artist.
Yosyp Bokshay is a brilliant representative of realistic painting of Transcarpathia who created art works in various genres and on various subjects: chamber and wide panoramic landscapes, historical paintings and genre scenes, portraits and large sacral compositions.
Sacral works constitute a significant proportion of the collection which will be presented in the museum. Overall, it will feature 80 works from the museum’s collection. In addition, Y.Bokshay Charitable Foundation will contribute to the exhibition by providing archival materials, children’s drawings, front sketches made by Yosyp Bokshay in captivity, as well as unique sacral paintings of the artist.
Special atmosphere of the event will be created by the performance of the Academic Chamber Choir "Cantus".
The opening is at 15:00.
