Officers of Svalyava police are establishing all the circumstances of a car accident on the highway "Kyiv-Chop", where a truck "MAN" had fatally injured a pedestrian.
On April 18, in the evening, the police received a report from a resident of Mukachevo that on the highway "Kyiv-Chop" near the village of Suskovo in Svalyava district, he had hit a pedestrian. The investigative team found out at the scene that on the 756th km of the international highway towards Lviv, the driver of a "MAN" had fatally injured a 50-year-old resident of the village of Chynadiyevo. The victim died on the spot. The driver’s blood sample was taken for detection of alcohol, it confirmed that the man was sober. The truck was delivered to the impound lot.
The driver told the police officers that he was driving at a speed not exceeding 60 km per hour, and because of the bustling traffic and the rain had not noticed the pedestrian. The police see the signs of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code, ie violation of the traffic rules that caused the victim’s death or caused serious bodily injury. The investigation continues.
