The Days of Neighbourliness with Poland may be held in Transcarpathia

The possibility of opening the border crossing point on the Ukrainian-Polish border within Transcarpathian region was discussed during the meeting of the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal and the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in the city of Lviv Wieslaw Mazur.

According to the head of the region, the construction of a bicycle-pedestrian checkpoint "Lubnia-Volosate" in Velyky Berezny district will provide new opportunities for regional development and increase the flow of tourists. Hennadiy Moskal also raised the question of holding the Days of Neighborliness between Transcarpathia and Podkarpackie so that people on both sides of the border could meet and conduct cultural programs and culinary tastings together.

The Polish diplomat promised to assist in resolving the issues raised.  In particular, to send invitation of Hennadiy Moskal to the head of Podkarpackie province to visit Uzhgorod to discuss details of cooperation between the neighboring regions. According to him, opening of the crossing point "Lubnia-Volosate" requires a more detailed discussion. After all, the checkpoint is to be opened in natural parks of three states, moreover, on the border of the Schengen zone. And the idea to hold the Days of Neighborliness with Poland, according to Wieslaw Mazur, can be implemented already this summer.
