The court did not uphold the defense of a bribe-taker

The Court of Appeal of Transcarpathian region upheld the decision of the court of first instance for the removal from office against the official of Uzhgorod City Council, who had been detained while receiving $ 800 bribe.

Thus, the Court of Appeal denied the appeal of the defense and upheld the decision of the court, whereby the head of the Municipal Property Management Department of the Uzhgorod City Council was removed from the office for 1 month.

Recall that in June 2018, officers of the Investigation Department of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor’s Office, together with officers of the Economic Crime Department in Transcarpathian Region, caught the head of the Municipal Property Management Department of the Uzhgorod City Council, who had demanded and received $ 800 in unlawful benefits.

At present, according to the court decision, the suspect is under house arrest, the Transcarpathian Prosecutor’s Office informed on their Facebook page.
