The chief forester of Transcarpathia may be fire

Honcharuk ordered to remove the chief forester of Transcarpathia from the office

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk ordered to remove the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Forestry and Hunting Range Administration Valeriy Murha from his post for the duration of the audit.

He stated that during a meeting with representatives of the territorial bodies of the State Forestry Agency, the Ukrinform reported.

“ There have been very bad reports about you in the media and many deputy appeals personally about you. Therefore, I have asked to remove you from the office until the completion of the audit. And following it, if there are grounds, then you will be dismissed," – Honcharuk said.

As reported by the Ukrinform, on January 11, Honcharuk ordered to ensure the proper functioning of centralized timber accounting in Ukraine as of February 1, and also instructed the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Forestry Agency and the State Ecological Inspectorate to continuously take efforts to prevent illegal logging and to detect violations.
