Vasyl Raichynets, the senior bishop of the Ukrainian Evangelical Church and the chairman of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, died in Uzhgorod hospital.
"We are deeply saddened to inform you that the Chairman of the AUCCRO, Vasyl Fedorovych Raichynets, the senior bishop of the Ukrainian Evangelical Church, passed away on Saturday, July 4,” – the press service of the AUCCRO wrote.
The farewell ceremony for Bishop Vasyl Fedorovych Raichynets will take place on July 5 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the House of Prayer of the Ukrainian Evangelical Church. Address: Polyana communtiy, Verkhovynska st., 33.
The funeral service will take place on July 6 at 12:00 at: Polyana community, Sonyachna st., 59, Polyana Stadium.
In 1995, Raichynets was elected Senior Bishop of the Union of Free Churches of the Evangelical Faith of Ukraine. From 1996 to 2006, he headed the Union of Free Churches of Christians of the Evangelical Faith of Ukraine.
In July 2008, by the decree of the President of Ukraine, he was awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the V degree.
In 2010, he was elected the President of the International Assembly of Evangelical Christians.
