The Canada’s Ambassador to Ukraine visited Transcarpathia

The Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine Roman Vashchuk is visiting Transcarpathia. On Tuesday, he met with the leaders of the region – the Regional Council Chairman Volodymyr Chubirko and the head of the Regional State Administration Vasyl Hubal.

Roman Vashchuk was appointed less than a year ago. At one time, from 1994 to 1998, he worked as an advisor to the Canadian Embassy in Ukraine. He has Ukrainian roots – his parents emigrated to Canada after the Second World War.

Vasyl Hubal thanked Mr. Ambassador for the support provided by the Canada to our country. "We feel it, and you are supporting us morally and financially. Our relations have become more dynamic. Our region cooperates with many regions of Europe, we also want to attract investors from Canada. We are open to cooperation. Transparency and publicity is the most important requrement for this," – the head of RSA said.

According to the Ambassador, Ukraine is a key European partner of Canada, which will continue to support the development of democracy and the rule of law in independent Ukraine.       

Volodymyr Chubirko noted that during the reform we would benefit from the Canadian experience, particularly in the reform of the government system.
