The traditional musical art festival – the XVIII Festival of Classical and Contemporary Music "Musical Constellation of Transcarpathia" – will be held in Uzhgorod from 10th to 30th of October.
On October 10, in the big hall of the Uzhgorod Music College, the first event of the festival took place – the meeting with the head of the festival, a teacher of the college, the head of the Transcarpathian organization of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine, the Honored Art Worker of Ukraine Victor Telychko. The thematic presentation "Pages of the Festival "Musical Constellation of Transcarpathia". Choral Music of Transcarpathian Composers" was accompanied by a demonstration of audio and video recordings of works by V. Haiduk, V. Volontyr, and I. Marton.
The program of the festival includes, among other thing, a number of significant concerts.
On October 16, at 18.30, the National Honored Academic Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine will perform on the stage of Transcarpathian Academic Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater.
The artistic director and chief conductor is People’s Artist of Ukraine, laureate of the T. Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine Volodymyr Sirenko. The soloists are Honored Artist of Ukraine Natalia Nikolayishin (soprano, Kyiv) and Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Leontiy Lenart (dulcimer, Uzhgorod).
On October 21, at 17.00, "Myroslav Skoryk in the jazz style" – the concert on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the world famous composer, Hero of Ukraine, academician, People’s Artist of Ukraine, winner of the Shevchenko Prize, living legend of Ukrainian music – will take place in the big hall of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic.
The unique musical event will feature winner of international competitions, Lviv Chamber Orchestra "Academia" (head – Artur Mykytka), piano duo Oksana Rapita and Myroslav Dragan, cellist and producer Oleksandr Piriyev. The conductor will be Maestro himself.
On October 23, at 11.55, "Art meetings" will be held in Mukachevo State University, where music publications initiated by the Transcarpathian organization of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine will be presented.
This year’s festival program will be closed on October 30, at 18.30, with the concert of symphonic music "Ukraine in Time" with the participation of the symphony orchestra of the Philharmonic (conductor – Honored Artist of Ukraine Victoria Tsanko) in the big hall of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic. The concert will feature works of Ukrainian composers Stankovych, Skoryk, Zador, Marton, Telychko.
The festival "Musical Constellation of Transcarpathia" is held with the assistance of the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, the Department of Culture, Sports, Family and Youth of Uzhgorod City Council, the Transcarpathian Organization of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine, the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic, the Transcarpathian Academic Regional Ukrainian Musical and Drama Theater, Uzhgorod Musical College, – the organizers inform.
