The book by a Transcarpathian author made into the short list of the BBC competition

December 9, the five best books of the contest "BBC Children’s Book of the Year – 2013" were announced. The short list in this category includes works by Halyna Vdovychenko "The league of odd socks," Oleksandr Havrosh "Pintya the Rogue in the damned city," Serhiy Hrydin "Different", Mariana and Taras Prokhaskos "Who’ll make the snow" and Irene Rozdobudko "Arsen".
The winners of the contest, which takes place in two nominations, including "BBC Book of the Year 2013" and "BBC Children’s Book of the Year 2013", will be announced on Friday, December 13, at the awards ceremony.  The winners in each category will be awarded £ 1,000 in hryvnias equivalent, and publishing houses, which published the books of the winners will be granted the right to use the official logo "BBC Book of the Year" in all subsequent editions of these books.
Recall that in the long list of nominees, there were three works by Transcarpathian authors, namely Miroslav Dochynets’s "Prisoner of the Palanok castle" and Oleksandr Havrosh’s "Dido-vsevido" and "Pintya the Rogue in the damned city."
