The All-Ukrainian WorldSkills Professional Skills Competition was held today in Uzhgorod

The first regional qualifying round of the All-Ukrainian WorldSkills Professional Skills Competition (Hairdressing Qualification) was held today in Uzhgorod, at the Higher Commercial College of Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics (Director – Lydia Gondorchin). The purpose of the competition is to promote working professions. 
The mayor of Uzhgorod Bohdan Andriyiv in his welcoming speech emphasized the importance of professional education.    
The mayor added that in 2019, more than UAH 37.7 million had been allocated from the city budget for three vocational education institutions located in Uzhgorod, including about UAH 12 million to finance that particular school. 
Today, the participants of the hairdressing competition did a modern men’s haircut with styling, on November 26 at the Higher Vocational School No. 3 in Mukachevo, the participants will compete in the "Electrical work" category, on November 29 at the Khust Professional Service Industry Lyceum – in "fashion technologies." 
In the finals, at the national level, in April-May 2020, the team from Transcarpathia will present their skills in a total of 6 competencies: "Confectionery"; "Turning works"; "Culinary Arts"; "Hairdressing Art"; "Electrical Works" and "Fashion Technologies"
