The airport of Uzhhorod has begun to be released from longstanding shrubs

A bulldozer, several tractors and a working brigade equipped with chainsaw are working in the territory of the airport of Uzhhorod.

– Thick bushes have grown along the perimeter of the airport. They have not been uprooted for at least twenty years, – says H. Moskal –  Wild animals live in the thickets now. Last summer, a roe ran out from the thicket to the runway while a plane was landing. The animal hit the chassis. It could have led to a tragedy. No wonders that the airport cannot operate under such conditions.

Heavy machinery is needed to uproot the trees and the bushes. A special fence will be installed after the complete cleaning of the territory. The State Aviation Administration promised to resume the flight service in Transcarpathia when the airport is in proper state. The works have begun.
