The 60th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution will be celebrated in Uzhgorod (Announcement)

This year, the Hungarians commemorate the 60th anniversary of the revolution and fight for freedom in 1956. On this occasion, the plaque "Pride" will be opened in Uzhgorod, and a scientific conference on "Development of the Hungarian revolution and fight for freedom in 1956, Hungarian and Transcarpathian events, social context" will be held.

The organizers of the event are the Association for territorial development "KIUT" and the Humanities and Natural Sciences Faculty of Uzhgorod National University. The celebrations will be held with the support of the Committee established to mark the 60th anniversary of the revolution and fight for freedom in 1956. The beginning is on October 17, 2016 at 9:30 am (lobby, old building).

The program includes the opening of a memorial plaque "Pride", press conference, performances of student groups, lectures on the Hungarian revolution. Among the speakers, there will be Hungarian historians, teachers and students of Transcarpathian universities.
