Thaw and rain turned the big snow in the Carpathian region into a big disaster. Flooded houses and land in several districts, hampered, and sometimes completely blocked roads.
In the village of Kolchino, Mukachevo district, in the morning, as a result of ice jam and overflowing water, the road turned into a stream. In afternoon, rescuers sent the Vyznytsya river back into the channel. But, several yards are still flooded and crammed with ice blocks.
According to rescuers, at 13.00 on February 3, due to melting snow, formation of ice jams in streams and rivers of the region, heavy precipitation in the form of rain, rise of the level of groundwater, streams and rivers, 127 yards, 4 residential houses, 25 hectares of farmland in Perechyn, Irshava, Tyachiv, Mukachevo and Svalyava districts are flooded. Also two houses and one shop were damaged.
