Last night, at about 9.40 pm, the police received a report of a traffic accident near the village of Nelipyno, Svalyava district. At the scene, officers of the Svalyava police department’s investigative task force found out that the driver of the VAZ-2106, moving from the city of Mukachevo in the direction of Svalyava, had lost control, driven off the roadway and collided with a bumper.
As a result of the impact, one of the passengers of the car – an 18-year-old resident of Volovets district – was injured, the boy was taken to the intensive care unit of the district hospital. The 20-year-old driver, a resident of Volovets, also sought medical help. The young man was tested, he was found to be intoxicated while driving. The other two passengers in the car were not injured in the accident. Investigators of the Svalyava police department initiated criminal proceedings over the car accident under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is violation of traffic safety rules. The violator faces liability in the form of restriction of liberty for up to three years with deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for the specified period.
