Once again we have to admit problems with landscaping in our home town of Uzhgorod, which not so long ago was proudly called "garden city". The city, which boasts cherry and magnolia, the linden alley, Sophora, sycamore plantations, and chestnuts on the embankment.
However, a specialist draws the attention to the problem with these trees. Oleg Kolesnik, the head of the department of botany at UzhNU once again laments about poor landscaping work. Here is what the scientist wrote.
"Yesterday, I went to check the ruthlessly trimmed red chestnuts on the notorious embankment of the Uzh and noticed the state of young chestnuts. It turns out that instead of red chestnuts, which rarely get affected by leaf-miners, they planted chestnuts that are not resistant to this pathogen. I do not see the logic in this process.
Pictured: young chestnuts that are already in critical condition," – Oleg Kolesnik wrote in his facebook.
